I remember when I lived in Wisconsin (ca. 2001-2005), the natural resources folks were really worried Asian carp would make the 'jump' from the headwaters of the Mississippi River into the Great Lakes. I am surprised to find that this invasion has been prevented so far, billions of dollars and an electric barrier later.
